Mr. Hodges is a Business Valuation Expert for IPmetrics® Intellectual Property Consulting. Mr. Hodges has over a decade of financial analysis and valuation experience in the financial consulting industry. He is responsible for analyzing and valuing all types of intellectual property and intangible assets (IP) including trademarks, copyrights, patents, trade secrets, domain names, and customer databases, among others. Mr. Hodges has completed work on over 100 intellectual property valuation assignments, including projects for many of the top IP law firms and numerous fortune 500 clients.
Specifically, Mr. Hodges has developed complex financial models, which utilize extensive ad hoc analysis in determining economic damages within the litigation context. His extensive background also includes valuing IP for the purposes of loan securitization, acquisitions/mergers, joint ventures, licensing transactions, transfer pricing, bankruptcy filings and internal management decision-making.
Prior to joining IPmetrics, Mr. Hodges served as a Senior Analyst for a leading intellectual property management firm. During his tenure, he was responsible for analyzing and valuing all types of intellectual property and intangible assets. In addition, Mr. Hodges has performed comprehensive appraisals of shareholder, limited partnership, and membership interests in closely-held entities and qualified plans, utilized primarily for estate tax, gift tax and other fiduciary tax reporting purposes.
His career has also centered on the financial services sector where he served as a Trade Specialist and Surveillance Analyst with AIG Financial Advisors and, prior to that, as a Registered Representative with Charles Schwab & Co.
Mr. Hodges earned an M.B.A with concentrations in Finance and Accounting from Indiana University Kelley School of Business and a B.S. in Finance from Arizona State University, in addition to the Certified Accredited Senior Appraisal (ASA) designation from the American Society of Appraisers.
